She is wearing 18 month clothes, size 5 wide shoes, and size 3 diapers. Bows are rarely seen in her hair, since she won't keep them in at this age. We haven't weighed her in a while, but she's probably around 22 lbs. And she is definitely getting taller!
She is still a really good eater, and will eat just about anything that she can feed to herself, especially vegetables, fruits, chicken and fish, cheese, english muffins for breakfast, goldfish, and animal crackers. She loves drinking milk and ice water.
She continues to love going to "school" every day. Daddy usually takes her in the morning, and she has developed a routine that she likes. She loves her teachers and playing with all her little friends.
She is talking and babbling like crazy. She really understands lots of words now, and knows what we are saying. She can point to several body parts and go get things that we tell her to get. Unfortunately, she hasn't quite mastered what "NO" means.... We tell her "No" and she just smiles or laughs and keeps doing whatever it is that she's not supposed to do.
She is very attached to her Mommy and Daddy, and LOVES her Grandparents too, but has a little stranger anxiety/hesitancy with other people until she gets to know them.
She LOVES playing outside. She would play outside all day long if we let her, so we try to take her to the park or play in the backyard on nice days. She loves going down the slides, and just walking around, checking things out. We got her a playhouse for Christmas, and I can't wait to put it together for her! She will love it!
She also LOVES running around and being chased and played with rough. Daddy is really good at doing that with her.
She LOVES books, so we read about 10 books to her every night before she goes to bed. I think Mommy and Daddy have all the words memorized to most of her books now.
She still loves her paci, but we try to just give it to her at night. She doesn't use it at daycare anymore. Not sure when we're going to take it away. It definitely helps her sleep through the night, which we really like.
Well, I think I hit the highlights. We are looking forward to Avery's second Christmas! I think she will really enjoy it this year!
Today is Nana's Birthday, so Happy Birthday Nana! Avery had a great time eating lunch and playing at the park with you and Grandpa yesterday!
