Pool time!

We broke out Avery's little pool for the first time on Sunday. She loved it! The dogs loved it too! I'm sure it will be getting lots of use in this Texas heat this summer...

The dogs were so curious!
There's that smile that I love so much!!!

It's officially summer time!

Avery wore her 1st swimsuit today! We went with some friends to the Waterpark here in town, and had a great time. We only stayed for a couple of hours, and the weather wasn't that great (overcast and a little windy), but it was still fun. Avery loves the water! I'm pretty sure we'll be visiting the park a lot this summer. Here are a few pictures...

She's Everywhere!

Our baby is getting more and more independent!  She is now crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything!  She is so curious and fearless... it's a little scary.  We have been quickly finishing all the "baby proofing" in the house.  Ted had to lower the crib, and I feel like all I do is sweep, swiffer, mop, and vaccume to keep the floors clean for her.  Thankfully, the ear infection  cleared up, and she is sleeping and feeling so much better.  She went for her 9 month check up earlier this week, and is meeting all her milestones.  She weighed 18lbs 9 oz, and was 27 inches long (50th percentile for both).  She is calling me Mama which is soooo sweet.  I love it!  She also says Dada, baba, and other little babbles.  She is just so much fun now.  Here are a few new pictures....
Enjoying a teething biscuit!
Lowering the crib (which is no fun at all, according to Ted!).

9 Months

Avery is now 9 months old!  Unfortunately, we went to the Doctor today for an ear infection, so hopefully she will feel better soon.  Otherwise, she is growing and learning new skills every day!  She has spent this last month mastering crawling, getting into a sitting position, pulling up, playing peek-a-boo, high 5, and feeding herself finger foods.  She is getting more and more independent, and wants to get into everything.  She still just has 2 teeth, but I'm sure more are on the way.  She weighed 19 lbs at her appointment today.  Life with Avery is always busy, but lots of fun.  We are incredibly blessed!  Here are a few recent pictures.
Wearing "big girl" PJ's now!

A Special Day

Today was a very special day.  We not only honored our Mothers, giving thanks for all they do in our lives, but we dedicated our baby girl at church.  We felt extremely blessed to have so many family and friends at church to share in our special day.  We have attended TBC for nearly 10 years, and for a lot of our family, this was the first time to visit our church.  It warmed my heart to see so much of our family worshiping together at our church, which we love so much.  Ted and I were baptized as babies, but in our church it is called dedication.  We are dedicating our child to God, vowing to raise her in the church, guiding her and teaching her about the Lord.  And when she is a little older, and ready to accept Jesus into her own heart, she will be baptized.  The following prayer says it best...
Dear God, please bless our baby.  Keep watch both day and night as we raise our little miracle, so precious in Your sight.  Please grant to us great wisdom, as we teach this child each day to follow your commandments, your holy will obey.  We dedicate this child to You, our blessing from above, and we thank you Heavenly Father for Your precious gift of love.
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.  Proverbs 22:6

Quick Trip to Houston

We made a quick trip to Houston this weekend, so Avery could spend some time with her Aunt Tikki-Bird and Uncle Dan.  They were in town for a wedding, so we took the opportunity to hang out with everyone.  It was great seeing them, and we look forward to our trip to Montana in July!
