Maternity Pictures

My sister-in-law Kathy came and took maternity pictures of us this weekend. She says that photography is just a hobby for her, but as you can see by the pictures, she has become quite talented at her little hobby. She did an amazing job, and we greatly appreciate her capturing this special moment in our lives. I have posted some of my favorites below, but you can check out some of the others *here*.

33 Weeks

My OB appointment went well today... nothing too exciting to report. I have one more 2 week appointment, then I start going every week. Avery grew a little bit, one more pound added to the scale, and my belly measured 33 cm, which was perfect. We had our 3rd childbirthing class last night. It was pretty neat, because we got to tour labor and delivery, as well as the postpartum "couplet" floor. I think it made us both excited and nervous at the same time. But at least we know what to expect now.
Last Saturday, we had a little shower with my co-workers. The doctor over my clinic hosted it at her house, and it was really nice. We had burgers and cake. Unfortunately, I only have a picture of the cute cake to share with you. We didn't take any other pictures...
On Sunday, I had some fun working on Avery's room. A lot of our items that we had ordered came in last week, including my diaper bag, the glider, and our travel system. While Ted put the travel system together and organized the garage to make room for some of the baby stuff, I worked on the nursery. I also washed 3 loads of Avery's clothes, blankets, and linens. So... if Avery arrived tomorrow, we would be ready! Well... almost. We're just waiting on a few more things for her room, like her name for the wall.

I'm still feeling pretty good. Just a few normal aches and pains associated with the 3rd trimester... heartburn, backaches, leg cramps etc... Nothing that's too hard to handle.
Until next time....

32 Weeks

This week marked 32 weeks... we're definitely getting closer!!! We've been staying busy with baby showers, childbirthing classes, and getting the nursery ready. It's been a lot of fun. It's really starting to come together. Avery will be here before we know it. I was super excited today, because our travel system and diaper bag arrived. I had been looking for a diaper bag for a while, and came across this one recently online. When it went on sale, I asked Ted if I could order it, and of course he said yes. I absolutely love it and can't wait to use it! I did end up registering for a sort of "manly" smaller bag for Ted, so he won't have to carry around my stylish girly bag if he doesn't want to. I've posted a few new pictures below, so enjoy!

I love this shirt that Jennifer let me borrow!

Houston Baby Shower

This past weekend was our Houston Baby Shower. While the girls attended the shower, Ted and some of the guys went to Willie's for their traditional beer and nachos. The shower was really nice, and Avery received lots of very cute and useful items. Once again, we were extremely blessed by the thoughtfulness and generosity of lots of family and friends. When we got home, we were completely overwhelmed by all the baby items that have been added to Avery's nursery over the past couple of weeks. She is already loved and spoiled by so many people. We can't wait to have her here with us, so we can use all of the cute things that are in her room. Here are a few pictures from the weekend... enjoy!

4th of July at the Lake

We spent the 4th of July out at the lake this year. A lot of our family and friends were out of town on vacation (jealous, jealous!), so we decided to take the boat out on Lake Belton with some of our friends that were here. The Sims family joined us, along with their niece and nephew, plus our friend Brent. We ended up spending the entire day out on the boat, so we were pretty pooped by the time we got home. Unfortunately, I didn't get to join in on the water-sporting activities, but it was nice to be out on the boat. So, I guess it was Avery's 1st trip to the lake... she seemed to be okay with it. The water felt great in the 100+ weather! Here are a few pictures from our fun day...

30 Weeks!

This week marks 30 weeks! We are definitely getting closer! I'm still feeling good, just getting a little more uncomfortable due to my growing belly and active little girl. I'm seeing my Dr. every 2 weeks now, plus we start our childbirthing classes next week, so that's exciting.

Ted got pretty pumped about our joggging stroller that we got at our shower last weekend. It was a gift from his parents and some of the Kansas family. I came home from work the other night, and he had already assembled it! I told him that we wouldn't need it for at least 2-3 months, but he thought it would be cool to go ahead and put it together. We can't wait to use it!

Today I found Avery's coming home outfit, and I love it! Of course it has to be pink with little ruffles and matching socks and a bow. I am so excited about seeing her in it. 10 weeks or less, and she'll be here! Until next time...
