20 Week Update

Yesterday, I hit the half-way mark... 20 weeks!  Well, that's if I make it to 40 this time.  Either way, we're on the downslide!  It's very exciting.

How big is baby? Baby #2 is about the size of a banana!

Sex of baby?  It's a GIRL!  Natalie Faith

How is Mommy feeling? Pretty good, not as tired.  I still get sick about once a week for some reason, but it's not too bad.  I'm having to get weekly progesterone shots to keep me from going into pre-term labor since Avery was a month early.  Ted is giving them to me and doing a great job!

What is Mommy wearing? Almost all maternity clothes now. I've definitely grown in the past 4-6 weeks!

What is Mommy craving? Sweets (bad, bad, bad!).

Weight gain so far? About 11 lbs (YIKES!)

Best part of this month? Feeling the baby move more, learning that Avery would have a SISTER!

Fun Times with Avery

Avery and I have had some good quality time together over the past several days.  Ted was out of town for most of the weekend, so besides battling another ear infection, we had lots of time to play.  Today was also my day off, so we spent some time at the park (even though it was about 55 degrees), and had fun doing some art work and playing with play-doh for the first time.  She is definitely an active little girl... but the park and the play-doh kept her occupied for several hours, which is rare.  I had a chance to play with my new camera, so I took lots of pictures.  Enjoy!
 Playing in my boots.
 She loves her slide.
 In deep thought...
 Look Mom!  No hands!
 Silly girl!

It's a GIRL!

Well... it looks like we're having another GIRL!  We had our 19 week ultrasound this morning, and everything looked great.  I got teary eyed when I heard that we would be having another girl.  I grew up always wanting a sister, so this is such a blessing that Avery will have a sister, especially since they are so close in age.  I hope and pray that they will be best friends.  Ted was a little suprised... he was still convinced that it was a boy.  But, he is still thrilled... and just think, we won't have to buy very much!  We definitely have plenty of girl stuff saved for the baby.  Ted will just have to take his little girls hunting and fishing.... and maybe we'll decide to go round 3 in the later future.  We'll just have to wait and see.
Here are some ultrasound pictures of the baby.... We feel so incredibly blessed!

Legs... she was definitely a wiggle worm!

Avery is 17 months old!

Avery turns 17 months old tomorrow!  She continues to be little Miss Independent, and is busy, busy, busy!  Try to slow this girl down, and she lets you know how she feels about it... I think this has been the most challenging age for me yet.  It's fun watching her learn new skills and start to understand more words, but it's also very tiring and scary at times since she is completely fearless.  I think that Danger is currently Avery's middle name =)

She is still wearing 18 month clothes, size 5 shoes, and size 3 diapers.  We go in next month for her 18 month check-up and shots, so we'll see how much she has grown then.

She is still a good eater... I think her teachers are shocked by how much she loves fruit and vegetables.  One day they told Ted, they had never seen a child eat so much broccoli!  She loves just about anything.  She has really gotten on an oatmeal and blueberry kick lately.  I'm so glad she is such a healthy eater.

She sleeps very well at night, as long as we stick to our routine.  She takes her bath, brushes her teeth (which she HATES!), puts on PJ's, reads about 10 books, snuggles/rocks for a minutes or two, then she wants her bed.  She still sleeps with her paci and likes a little blanket at times.  She is usually down by 8pm and typically sleeps until 6:30 or 7am.  We can't complain too much!

She takes one nap during the day, usually from 11:30am-1:30 or 2pm.

She loves her routine at "school."  She is about to move up to the next class, which makes me sad.  She has been in the "baby" classrooms, which are connected, for over a year, so we know and love all the teachers.  I'm curious how she will react to moving down the hall to the toddler room, with a new routine, and new teachers.  I hope she does okay.

She continues to babble and talk like crazy.  She has started singing the ABC's and other little songs.  She shakes her head "no" when we ask her certain questions.  She seems to really understand a lot of words now.

Her favorite activities are reading books, playing outside, going to the park and playing on all the slides, CLIMBING on anything and everything, playing in her new kitchen, walking in our shoes, giving the dogs bones or treats, emptying drawers and making a big mess, and playing with her little friends and cousins.

 Our little climber...
 Walking in Daddy's flip-flops.
Yup... I can climb up here too!
Playing in her tunnel... Love this picture!
 Cooking in her kitchen!
She loves all her pots and pans.
Riding in her new pink coupe!
Look at me!  I'm on the coffee table!
Reading the paper like a big girl.
Playing at her favorite park on a nice day!
She loves going up and down this tunnel slide!
She would stay here for hours!
She likes watching all the other kids play.

17 Week Update

It's been a while since I did a pregnancy update, so here is my 17 week belly shot from yesterday.  Yes... I'm definitely growing!  The baby ate well over the holidays =)
How big is baby?  Baby #2 is about the size of a sweet potato!
How is Mommy feeling?  Pretty good, not as tired or nauseous.
What is Mommy wearing?  Mostly maternity clothes now.  It's been fun going through my old box of clothes.  Seems like I just packed them away.
What is Mommy craving?  Salty snacks, fruit (mostly grapefruit!), Diet Coke with Lime.
Weight gain so far?  About 7 lbs (YIKES!)... Like I said, I'm definitely growing this month!
Best part of this month?  I started to feel the baby move about a week ago!  Lots of little flutters.  Also spending Christmas with Avery, and realizing that there will be 2 next year!
Soooo excited to find out if Avery will have a little brother or little sister!  We will know in just 13 days!!!!
