Preparing for Natalie... and some random pictures of Avery

Today we pulled down all of our baby stuff to prepare for Natalie.  I can't believe she will be here in just 6 weeks or less!  If she arrives as early as Avery did, we will be bringing our baby home in just 2 weeks!  CRAZY!  Which is why we decided we better start getting all of our last minute preparations done... just in case we have any sudden suprises.
It was so much fun going through all of Avery's old baby stuff.
Just 4 loads of laundry worth of Preemie, Newborn, and 0-3 month clothes and baby supplies!  Have I mentioned how happy I am that we're having another girl and can re-use a lot of Avery's stuff?
Avery had to check out all the baby supplies!
I think she's a little too big for her old carrier!
 Silly girl!
This is her favorite way to brush her teeth!
 She's so independent!

Easter Weekend

We enjoyed a wonderful Easter weekend with our families this year.  Saturday night, we cooked some dinner at our house, then went to our church with Ted's parents.  Sunday morning, we hung out and took Avery to the park for a little bit, then went to my parent's house for lunch and an Easter egg hunt for the kids.  Everyone had a great time!

Sneak Peak at the Nursery

This past weekend, Avery stayed with my parents so we could have a much needed "date night" and work on the nursery for Natalie.  By Saturday night, we were both exhausted, but got so much accomplished!  At 32 weeks pregnant, I was starting to stress out about not having a room for Natalie to come home to, so now I feel so much better =)  Here is a sneak peak of what it looks like so far.....
Ted did such a good job painting...
Yes... it's PINK, but I love it!  Now I wish Avery's room was pink too, but we'll wait until we move into our new house next year.

A few special touches...  I hope this is true of Avery and Natalie =)

Visiting Nana and Grandpa

Sunday, we met Ted's parents in College Station for a little visit.  We started off at the park, then enjoyed some dinner with a toddler at Texas Roadhouse =)  Grandpa took some cute pictures, so I hope he doesn't mind if I share some...
Still wearing her cute little church dress =)

Baby Shower

Last weekend, our sweet friends hosted a diapers and wipes shower for baby Natalie.  Our closest friends and some of our family celebrated with us, and all the little kids had a blast playing together!
Unfortunately, I didn't take very many pictures, but here are a few....
The kids had so much fun with all the water activities!
They had fun on the playscape too!
 Avery and Addi swinging together.
I think we're pretty stocked up on all the essentials now!

Avery is 20 months!

Another month has flown by, and our sweet Avery is 20 months old!  It's hard to believe that in 4 months, we'll be celebrating her 2nd birthday.  And I thought the first year flew by!
She has learned so much over the past month or two.  She probably can say at least 100 words now, and several three word sentences.  Her favorite phrases are "I want/like juice," "I got shoes," "Socks and Shoes," and "That's Momma's/Daddy's."  It's so cute listening to her talk.  She can point to and name almost all of her body parts, as well as those of others.  She can tell you what different animals say (Fish, Doggie, Cat, Horse, Sheep, Cow, Lion).  She loves to talk on the phone to Daddy and her Grandparents... she will say Hi and Bye Bye and kiss the phone.  She is starting to learn a few colors and numbers.  She will sing tons of songs from school.  She LOVES her books... right now she is hooked on the Brown Bear series, we have to read them EVERY night.
She loves to pick out her food, she will go to the refrigerator when she is getting hungry and start pulling things out.  She is super independent, and wants to try to do everything herself, whether it's getting in her booster chair and buckling herself in, or putting on her clothes and shoes, or brushing her teeth.
She is also fearless.  She continues to climb on everything, you have to watch her like a hawk...  She loves going to the park and going down all the tall slides, usually head first.
She also has a very sweet side.  She has gotten very attached to her "babies."  She will cover them up with blankets and pat them, kiss the, and feed them bottles.  She has to have several of them in her bed with her at night.  She is also very attached to her "Blankie."  She loves to give hugs and kisses, she will blow you kisses, say thank you and bless you, she will kiss my belly when I tell her to kiss baby Sissy.  I hope that she will continue to be sweet when Natalie arrives.
Her neck continues to heal very well from her little surgery.  She has a small scar, but hopefully it will fade.  She calls it her "boo-boo."  She wants us to kiss all her "boo-boo's" now.  It's sweet.
We are so blessed to have such a fun, smart, playful, and loving little girl in our lives.  We are amazed at how much she has learned, and look forward to watching her grow and grow!
