22 Weeks!

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, but we've had a busy couple of weeks!
Last weekend, we made a quick trip to Kansas for Ted's cousin Beth's wedding. 20 hours in the car over 3 days was tiring, but we had a good time. It was good to spend some time with Ted's family, and the wedding was a lot of fun. I've posted a few pictures below. While in Topeka, we had to check out a little drive-in that was featured on Dinner's, Drive-In's, and Dive's. We're all in our work-out clothes, because we had just went on a little morning stroll. We had to burn a few calories before diving into burgers and fries! The doggies got to spend the weekend out at the farm. My parents were gracious enough to put up with a dog that needs medicine and eye drops, and a puppy that isn't quite house-broken yet.... so needless to say, we are extremely THANKFUL!

Baby Updates....

22 Weeks and Looking Very Prego!
Well, I've made it to 22 weeks, and I'm definitely starting to look and feel pregnant! It's crazy how fast you start to grow after 20 weeks. Avery is an active little girl too. I feel her move all the time, which is a little wierd at times, but so amazing and reassuring! Ted enjoys talking to her at night and feeling her kick. He also likes to rub belly butter on my growing tummy every night. It's pretty sweet...

We purchased our crib (thanks Mom & Dad Smith!) and our dresser/changing table last week, and our matching glider is ordered. They are sitting in our garage until we can get the rooms organized and start working on the nursery. Our crib bedding and assessories (thanks Mom & Dad Wiethorn!) also came in last week, and I LOVE it! I can't wait to get everything set up in the nursery. I'll start posting some pictures as soon as we get it all put up. We also started registering at Target and Baby's R Us, which has been fun. So, we're just moving right along. I'm still feeling good. I started working out some, but it's definitely a different experience when you're pregnant. My next Dr's appointment is next week, so I should have some updates then. I'm excited to see how much I've grown and to hear Avery's heartbeat again.
Until next time...

Best Friends

Our little doggies are getting along so great! We've only had Cooper a little over 2 weeks, but we have already grown to love him. He has made Shelby soooo much happier and playful. Getting her a friend worked out perfectly. Today I took Shelby to the groomer for a much needed haircut. She was gone about 3 hours, and boy did they miss eachother! When she got home, they played and played and played, then passed out on the couch. I can't wait for them to meet Avery! I got some cute pictures of them today....

Our Kitchen Remodel

This week we remodeled our kitchen, and it has turned out GREAT! We replaced all of our appliances with stainless steel, put in new quartz countertops and a tile backsplash that matches our floor, put in a new sink and faucet, and put hardware on all the cabinets in the house. It was a busy week, but we are pretty much done and we are enjoying the end result. We just have to go back and touch up a little paint and stain around the new countertops. But otherwise, we are done, and we love it! Here are a few pictures...

As for the dogs... they are getting along great! Between playing together, and sleeping by eachother, I would say that they are already best friends. It has worked out great. Now if we could just get Cooper house-broken!

Until next time...

Tickled Pink... We're having a GIRL!

Yesterday, I had my 19 week appointment and ultrasound... and we're so excited to announce that we're having a healthy baby GIRL!!! Everything looked perfect, so we were so relieved. She's an active little thing and weighs about 11 ounces right now. The pictures that he took aren't that great, but I have a video too. Now we can start planning the nursery and picking out all the little things she will need. We couldn't be any happier right now! The name that we have chosen is Avery Renee Smith. She will be loved so much!!!

Easter and Deryl Dodd

Easter weekend has been really busy for us around here. Ted had Friday off, so he spent the day remodeling our kitchen. We had new countertops and stainless steel appliances installed. Plus, we've been putting new hardware on all our cabinets in the house. We still have to get the tile backspash put in this week, but overall it's looking really great. I'll post pictures when we're done. On Saturday, we went to my parent's house for Easter lunch with the family. We had a great time, and the baby got his/her first Easter basket. Saturday night we went to the Cotton Club in Granger to watch Deryl Dodd with our friends. We had a great time and got some good pictures with him. Sunday, we went to church with our friends, and then Ted & I went and had lunch at the Stagecoach Inn in Salado. Overall, it was a busy, but fun weekend!

Baby news....Well, I'm still feeling great, just getting bigger. I started to feel the baby move towards the end of this week. It feels like air bubbles or popping, and now that I know what it is, I feel it all the time. It's an amazing feeling! Check back on Wednesday to find out if we're having a GIRL or a BOY!

Introducing our newest family member!

Ted and I have been talking about getting Shelby a friend for a while now. Well... last night we brought home the newest addition to our family. He is an 18 week old long-haired red brindle miniature dauchshund. We picked him out at the Cowboy kennel in Cameron. We wanted to get a puppy that was a little bit older. We've decided to call him Cooper. He is soooo cute and playful! So far he and Shelby are getting along great. He seems to be crate trained, but not completely house-broken yet. But hopefully we can get him trained in the next couple of weeks. I think they're going to be great friends!

17 weeks and growing!

We've made it to 17 weeks, and I couldn't feel any better! Everything is going great, and I'm definitely growing! I'm waiting patiently for two exciting events to happen... #1 Feeling the baby move! and #2 Having my ultrasound and finding out if this little baby is a girl or a boy! Both events should happen in the next couple of weeks. I can't wait!
