Onto the Third Trimester!

This weeks marks 28 weeks, which means we've made it to the third trimester! In 12 weeks or less, we'll be meeting our baby girl! It's hard to believe that she will be here soon. We are so excited and can't wait for her arrival.
The top 10 things that I will remember and cherish the most about my 2nd trimester....

1. Finding out that we would be having a baby GIRL!

2. Feeling Avery move... from little flutters to real kicks and seeing movement.

3. Watching my belly rapidly grow!

4. Getting to tell everyone that we were having a girl.

5. More Energy!

6. No more nausea!

7. Buying our nursery furniture and decorations.

8. Buying cute little girl clothes.

9. Starting to buy and wear maternity clothes.

10. Registering for baby stuff and planning for her arrival.

27 Weeks

I had my 27 week OB appointment today, and it was actually quite busy. I had to do the "oh, so exciting!" glucose tolerance test this morning, blood work, and receive my Rhogam shot in addition to the usual stuff. My appointment went well. My weight, blood pressure, and the baby's heart rate were all great, but she measured me at 30-31cm, when I am only 27 weeks! Last month, I measured 23 1/2, so that is just crazy that I grew that much in 1 month!!! I only gained 4 lbs, but for some reason I measured pretty big. She wasn't really worried, though. She said that some months, the baby has a big growth spurt, and it looks like this was Avery's month. I start going for my appointments every 2 weeks now, so I guess we'll see what she does in 2 weeks. My 3D ultrasound is also in 2 weeks, so I am really excited about seeing what Avery looks like.
Overall, I'm feeling good, and Avery is moving around like crazy! We are still working on the nursery. I am waiting on her letters for the wall and our glider to come in. I'll continue to post pictures as we add new things. Until next time...

Tisha & Dan's Wedding

This weekend we celebrated the marriage of Ted's sister, Tisha, to Dan Foster. We are soooo very excited to officially welcome Dan to the family. We had a great time at their amazing wedding in the Woodlands, and were so honored to be a part of it. Here are a few pictures... so enjoy!

26 Weeks and Getting Closer!

We've reached 26 weeks, and we're getting closer and closer to meeting miss Avery. Everything is going great. I'm still feeling good, just getting bigger. I feel like I've swallowed a basketball. I'm definitely looking and feeling pregnant now. It's funny how all of a sudden I have perfect strangers asking when I'm due, what I'm having, what's her name, is this my first etc.. etc... And I've even had a few random strangers (mostly patients) rub my belly. It's quite an experience. I'm sure I will get tired of answering the same questions over and over again, but right now it's kind of fun. It's nice to finally feel like everything is "real."

We are slowing adding things to the nursery. I've added a few pictures below of some of the bedding accessories (thanks Mom & Dad!) and of course I've added a few new belly pictures. We have signed up for our childbirthing and my breastfeeding classes, which will take place every Tuesday night in July. We have also signed up for an optional 3D/4D ultrasound for June 24th in Killeen. It's supposed to be really awesome! We'll get our first peak of what Avery will really look like! I am also having a baby shower in about 3 weeks in Belton, given by some of my best girlfriends. I'm getting really excited about it. So, we're just moving right along. Avery will be here before we know it!

Enjoy the pictures...

24 Weeks and a Sneak Peak of the Nursery

We've reached 6 months! It's starting to get very "real" and exciting now. I'm still feeling great and continuing to grow. Ted suprised me last weekend... when I got home from Houston, he had the crib and everything all set up in the nursery. I was sooo excited! Now we can start decorating and getting ready for Avery's arrival. Here is a sneak peak of the nursery so far....

Avery attended her 1st Bachelorette Party!

Ted's sister, Tisha, is getting married June 5th, and we are so excited for her and Dan! Last weekend, I went to Houston for one of her bridal showers and her Bachelorette Party. Obviously, I was a designated driver for the night, but I still had a good time getting to know some of her friends. Her matron of honor is also pregnant, so I wasn't the only one not enjoying some cocktails. Ted made the comment that he thought Avery was a little young to be attending her 1st Bachelorette Party! I'm not sure if she enjoyed the loud music at the bar or not, but she was really active all night. Hopefully, it was a good time for all.
Congrats Tisha! We can't wait for the big day!!!

23 Weeks!

I had my 23 week appointment today with my doctor. She said everything looked great. I'm measuring perfectly, and my blood pressure, weight, and the heartbeat were all good. My next appointment will be June 10th. I will have some blood work, the glucose tolerance test, and will receive my shot of Rhogam.

Avery has been really active. Not only can we feel her move, but we can SEE her move, which is just amazing. In the evenings, I love to lay on the couch or in bed and watch my belly move. I'm still feeling great, and I'm anxious to get started on the nursery when we have a free weekend.

Last weekend we celebrated Mother's Day. We spent Saturday in Houston and got to take Ted's parents out for dinner. On Sunday, my parents came down to Temple and went to church with us, then we took them out for lunch. It was really special this year, because not only did we get to spend the weekend with both of our amazing moms, but I was able to celebrate my first mother's day... even though Avery is still in the womb! Ted was so sweet and suprised me with some beautiful pink roses.

Until next time....
Allison
